European Parliament information. The EP-[date].csv file contains Member
information like email, phone number, political group, country, twitter
name, and membership of committees and delegations. The information is
also split out into committees, countries, and groups; see the folders
committees, etc. The committee files first list the chair, the vice-chair,
members, then the substitutes.

The European-Parliament-[date].html file contains links
to EP page, MEP website, twitter, facebook, youtube channel, and google
searches on MEP name together with search words like Mastodon, ISDS,
TTIP, privacy.

The script produces "comma separated values" files (.csv) which you
can open in spreadsheet programs like Excel and LibreOffice Calc. In case
the program asks for the separator, it's a comma.

INTA, JURI, TRAN, etc, are committees.

D-US, D-CA, DSEE, etc, are delegations. The .csv files list the delegations
in lowercase: d-us, d-ca, etc.

The Parliament has 5 political bodies:
Conference of Presidents, (Group presidents), CoP, aka BCPR;
The Bureau, aka BURO;
College of Quaestors, QUE;
Conference of Committee Chairs, CCC, aka CoCC, CPCO;
Conference of Delegation Chairs, CDC, aka CoDC, CPDE;
President EP is the President of the Parliament.
Note there are also informal Intergroups on particular subjects
that promote contact between Members and civil society. But these are not
mentioned here. See:
http://www.europarl.europa.eu/aboutparliament/en/20150201PVL00010/Organisation

You can sort the csv file so that it starts with the President of the EP,
then the Vice-Presidents, etc. This gives some idea of the Parliament's
organisation. LibreOffice: click somewhere in column PBs (Political Bodies sort),
at the top: dropdown menu: Data: choose sort.

If you sort Descending on ID the newest members (highest number) will be at the top.

Brussels phone numbers start with +32(0)228 45 . Strasbourg phone numbers
start with +33(0)388 1 75 .

Members may not share all information on the website. The EP website may
have some inconsistencies.

For incoming members see:
http://www.europarl.europa.eu/meps/en/incoming-outgoing.html

Also note Parltrack, a european initiative to improve the transparency of
legislative processes https://parltrack.org/

For sending personalised emails with mail-merge, the script now also splits
first name and last name (including surname prefix). Note that
automatically splitting European full names and capitalising them may lead to
errors. You may like to check your national MEPs' names for correct names and
capitalisation. Note that in Dutch and may be other languages the first character
of the surname prefix may change lower/upper case. Compare Nynke van der Sluis
and professor Van der Sluis (Belgian names do not do this).
